Ohio Tool Works Releases VHT Tooling System

Ohio Tools Works Adds to the New VersaHone Product Family By Introducing the VHT Modular Tooling System
The all-new VHT TOOLING SYSTEM combines quality and versatility to maximize productivity and shorten change-overs from part to part.

As part of the new VersaHone family of honing products, Ohio Tool Works (OTW) has recently released its line of VHT Tooling.

Designed around the core principles of durability and versatility, the new VHT system is perfect for customers who deal with short runs of a broad range of part diameters. The VHT system offers a wide diameter range with a relatively small number of components.

Ohio Tool Works - VHT-700 Tool Assembly“The new tooling has a look and functionality similar to several of our competitors’ lighter-duty tooling systems,” said Trent Black, lead engineer behind the development of the new line, “but the added strength and durability are obvious as soon as you pick it up.” Some innovative design features include:

• Robust rotary expansion drive with a 10:1 eccentric gear ratio

• Uses standard OH500 and OH700 stones and guides

• Threaded tool connection for quick change-overs

• Quick disassembly for easy cleaning and maintenance

“The VHT tooling line takes a proven concept to a new level of durability,” explained David Boliantz, a technical sales engineer at OTW. “It has a look and feel that people will be familiar with immediately and is completely compatible with most light to medium duty honing machines. Our goal is to set the new standard for light duty tooling.”

The complete VHT system has an inclusive range of 1.98” to 22.0” (50 to 560mm) I.D. based on a modular design. The range is broken down into expansion kits, so customers can easily determine which components they need and only purchase what they will use. The tooling can be used as a direct replacement to MPS tooling and is compatible with machines from many manufacturers such as Sunnen Products, Barnes, General Hone, Micromatic, Delapena, Superior and various others.
