Available on full VTC range of 1000-8000 mm machines, Coromant Capto quick-change modular toolholding system increases machine flexibility. Allows shops to decrease tooling cost/inventory and use legacy tools.

May 2012 – MAG’s full range of vertical turning centers in table size 1000-8000 mm increases its versatility and cost-effectiveness with the availability of Sandvik’s Coromant Capto® C8 toolholding system. “This industry-standard tooling system gives our customers the ability to more fully utilize their existing inventory of Coromant Capto tools, while increasing machine versatility with quick-changeover capability,” said Helene Nimmer, MAG Global Product Leader. “The widely used Coromant Capto system gives owners of MAG VTCs the advantages of Sandvik’s decades of experience and R&D in turning and milling tools.”

The VTCs can automatically exchange Coromant Capto tools from either a standard disk tool changer or an expanded tool magazine. “The modularity of the Coromant Capto system also enables our customers to use a single system of standard tools and adapters for tools with different lengths and design characteristics that can be used in multiple applications and machines,” Nimmer added. “As the range of multi-processing capabilities on our VTC’s increases, the modular system of tools offers strong cost-control potential by allowing a broader range of work to be done without custom tools.”

Florham Park, NJ, May 14th, 2012 - The Lapp Group’s newly developed ÖLFLEX® VFD XL creates extremely robust power connections between VFDs and motors, delivering mechanical and electrical properties beyond those offered by standard AWG motor cables.

The ÖLFLEX® VFD XL has been designed to perform in harsh conditions. It meets UL Oil Resistance I and II standards. It also thrives in low temperatures and has passed UL -25C Cold Impact and -40C Cold Bend tests, while the maximum continuous use temperature is 90C.

Designed with Class 5 conductor stranding, which meets both European and North American standards, ÖLFLEX® VFD XL has a 14% or larger CMA than a comparable AWG cable which contributes to a low DC resistance, making ÖLFLEX® VFD XL well suited to long cable runs.

John Gavilanes, Director of Engineering, reports, “Nowadays, variable frequency drives often serve in
precision process control applications, and when systems fail, they can cause hours or even days of lost productivity. Our engineering team has recently taken steps to develop a solutions to improve drive reliability with our latest product innovation.”

ÖLFLEX® VFD XL uses a cross-linked polyethylene insulation which enhances electrical properties and allows the cable to withstand voltage spikes, inrush currents and other electrical disruptions that damage motor cables.

Recommended applications include any VFD drive and motor connections for web presses, HVAC systems, conveyors and many other industrial machines and systems. ÖLFLEX® VFD XL has UL and CSA TC approvals.

Erie, PA— Portable Coalescers from Eriez® Hydroflow® are a perfect choice for metalworking plants with multiple machines. These simple, effective, low-cost tramp oil separators can be quickly and easily moved from machine to machine.

Eriez’ Portable Coalescer uses an oleophilic (oil attracting) coalescing plate pack media to remove oils effortlessly and efficiently. This plate pack consists of over 100 square feet of coalescing area for maximum oil removal. The unit is equipped with a standard electric submersible pump, but can be upgraded with an optional air pump or a heavy-duty electric pump for deeper sumps. The Eriez Portable Coalescer can also be used on high temperature fluids such as heavy-duty cleaners.

Because of its portability, a single machine can support tramp oil removal for an entire metalworking shop. These units can also be made stationary to work on large sumps or central systems. Larger flow rate systems can also be custom engineered to meet customers’ needs.

Reducing tramp oil is a high priority for all metalworking shops. Excess tramp oil leads to smoke, mist and bacterial infestation of the metalworking fluids, and adversely affects surface finish and reduces tool and dimensional tolerance control. Installing the Eriez Portable Coalescer extends the life of coolants and cleaners, improves machining and preserves valuable tools.

Standard features of the Portable Coalescer include adjustable feet for leveling, adjustable oil removal weir pipe, tank lid, floating oil collector to skim off oils and dirty fluid, pre-pump strainer and tank drain valve for cleaning. Options include self-priming centrifugal pump for pumping below ground sumps, 316 stainless steel tanks for high or low pH fluids, larger tank sizes and flow rates, 110-volt 50 hertz and 220-volt 50 hertz operation.
